What I Believe In!

Learn from Yesterday, Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow.               -Albert Einstein        I love this quote. I live by it everyday. Reminding myself of my past, so I can make my future the best it can be.    A few years ago, I wouldn't believe that I would be in school, making something of myself. I always wanted to be somebody. I thought I was actually doing that when I got married and had my kids.        But putting off my dreams was not the way I imagined living my life. My kids are my world but when I felt like they couldn't look up to me for inspiration, it broke my heart.     The situation I'm in now, reflects the choices I made in the past. I'm not perfect and I try to learn from my mistakes. I try not to stress and take it day by day. I know and believe that one day my kids and I will be together and I will provide them a life I never thought I could give them. All m...

Trucker Turned ASU Student

My husband, Terry, wanted to make more money than he was. So he got his CDL (commercial driver’s license) in 2012. He has driven all kinds of trucks. Such as, box trucks, 48-footers, 53-footers, rear-end dump trucks, flatbeds, doubles, pneumatics and so on. He has hauled and delivered everything. Examples are refrigerated foods, dry foods, tires, electronics, cars, parts, and even body parts of the dead. Delivering for big companies we all know like, Shamrock Foods and Starbucks. Terry has worked locally and out of town (Tucson, Kingman, Nogales). Even long hauls to Texas, New Mexico and Kentucky, which made him be away from home days at a time. I, myself have experienced some of it. Going with him to make deliveries or pick ups. Trucking is not for everyone. But I loved it. He made a decent amount of money doing this type of work. He was happy with what he was making every two weeks. Had no complaints. He enjoyed going to all these different places and seeing different areas and sta...

I Can't Seem To Let It Go....

Never thought my daughter, Yazmin , would be 15!!! I remember when was born and put into my arms. I called her China Bean. She looked like a CHINESE BURRITO !!!!! I dressed her like a real life doll. She had so many outfits, I would change her 3 to 4 times a day. Just so she was able to wear all the clothes she had.  Til this day she has way too much.      As she grew, I would give away her clothes. Each year I would try to minimize her wardrobe. Even getting rid of my favorites.      When I got divorced, I lost a lot of material things. Photos, sentimental items and more. Most things can never be replaced. But for some reason I have managed to hold onto a denim jacket I got her at about 2 years old. It has jeweled buttons in the shape of flowers. I loved seeing her in it. (I even lost photos of her wearing the jacket).      That little jacket sits in my closet among my clothes. I forget it's there until I'm lookin...

My husband Terry and I Why KISSSY?      I have 6 children. My oldest Yazmin (15), triplets Sabella, Keon and Sammy (11), my youngest Ian (9), and my step-daughter Savannah (14). Keon came up with the idea to make a word using the first letter of each of their names. He came up with KISSSY. They all love it because no one is left out. Oh, I almost left out our dog. She's a min-pin and her name is Khloe. Never realized it went with the kids theme.
