Trucker Turned ASU Student
My husband, Terry, wanted to make more money than he was. So he got his CDL (commercial driver’s license) in 2012. He has driven all kinds of trucks. Such as, box trucks, 48-footers, 53-footers, rear-end dump trucks, flatbeds, doubles, pneumatics and so on. He has hauled and delivered everything. Examples are refrigerated foods, dry foods, tires, electronics, cars, parts, and even body parts of the dead. Delivering for big companies we all know like, Shamrock Foods and Starbucks. Terry has worked locally and out of town (Tucson, Kingman, Nogales). Even long hauls to Texas, New Mexico and Kentucky, which made him be away from home days at a time. I, myself have experienced some of it. Going with him to make deliveries or pick ups. Trucking is not for everyone. But I loved it. He made a decent amount of money doing this type of work.
